Client: CCHA — Summer 2020

In June 2020 I was invited to contribute to the September edition of Coulisse, the behind-the-scene magazine of CCHA (Cultuur Centrum Hasselt). The question was to reflect on ‘silence’ coming with the lockdown and social bubbles. My language is drawing and so I did.

No traveling up north but instead ‘un voyage autour de ma tête’, a journey inside my head. A summer of (self)reflection (confrontation too), swimming, drawing and finding Daily Things to Fall in Love With (after Maira Kalman in her interview with Krista Tippett at On Being, Sept 7th 2017). One Moleskine diary (9x14 cm) of 64 pages matching the 2x31 days of Summer.

Speaking of Counting Sheep. The final illustration is titled ‘zomer xx’xx — a bubble coping strategy’ and appears in Coulisse, printed on 40.000 copies and distributed with newspapers dS and HBVL on 150920. With support of Cultuurfonds CCHA.
